30 miles south of Rochester, Canadice Lake is one of the minor Finger Lakes of western NY. Although the lake is just three miles long, the name is derived from the Iroquois word ska-ne-a-dice, meaning "long lake." Due to Rochester using the water, there are no cottages on the lake.
